Rolls-Royce secures landmark order from Turkish Airlines for Trent

The global power systems company Rolls Royce has secured an order for Trent XWB engines from Turkish Airlines. Now it has to power 25 Airbus A350-900 aircraft. All of these will be covered by its flagships TotalCare® support service. There is chances for 5 more aircraft for the company.

The Trent XWB is one of the most efficient large civil aero engines in operation, with more than 1,700 having been ordered by 45 customers from all over the world. It first entered service in January 2015.

“This is a significant development in our plans for future growth and we look forward to adding these latest Rolls-Royce powered aircraft to our ever-expanding fleet. We have previous experience of operating Rolls-Royce engines and know the benefits of both the technology and their TotalCare service support,” says, Turkish Airlines Board Chairman and the Executive Committee, M. İlker Aycı.

Chris Cholerton, Rolls-Royce, president of civil aerospace, said that Turkish Airlines has showed an impressive growth over recent years and they are really proud to be playing their part in the next chapter of Turkish Airlines’ story. Cholerton added, “The Trent XWB delivers excellent performance and this order underlines the confidence our customers have that our products are the right choice in terms of economics and services”.
