A long term lease agreement has been signed between Swissport Internationoal Ltd. and airport operator Fraport AG under which a new air cargo warehouse will be provided to Swissport at Frankfurt Airport’s CargoCity South. With an area of about 16,000 sqt mtrs. it will be the third largest among Swissport’s 133 air cargo warehouses. Construction will start in 2019 and it will be handed over to Swissport in 2020.
Fraport is constructing a state-of-the-art warehouse for Swissport Cargo services in CargoCity, south. They have planned to complete and handover the warehouse in the third quarter of 2020. Swissport signed this master deal for a new facility at Frankfurt Airport. Operating about 133 warehouses in the world Swissport is considered as a market leader in Ground Handling and Air Cargo.
This customised warehouse has an area of about 16,000 sq mts, having 2,260 square meters for office and social space.
Willy Ruf, Senior Vice President Swissport Germany, Austria & Switzerland, said that Swissport is committing a double digit million Euro amount towards the new facility at Frankfurt Airport. Emphasizing on the importance of infrastructure Ruf added, “Infrastructure plays a key role in optimizing our service delivery and reaching the ambitious efficiency and reliability goals for our clients around the world.”
