Abu Dhabi International Airport has received the Gold Certificate Recognition 2018 by the ACI Asia-Pacific (Airports Council International Asia-Pacific). Abu Dhabi International Airport awarded for its obligations and efficiency in green initiatives and for displaying a comprehensive commitment to energy saving. The award was given for airport category between 15 million to 25 million passengers per year.
The award was presented to delegations of Abu Dhabi Airports who were presenting the UAE’s leading airport in environmental conservation, conducted by Mohammed Al Khateeri, SVP Strategy and Communications at its regional assembly in Chiba City of Japan on 24th April.
Abu Dhabi International Airport received laurel for the efficient execution strategies used to minimize the waste at the Midfield Terminal construction site.
SVP Corporate Strategy, Planning & Communications at Abu Dhabi Airports, Mohammed Al Katheeri said that receiving the ACI Asia-Pacific Gold Certification is an incredible accomplishment for them. He further commented, “This recognition is the culmination of expertise sharing their knowledge and adopting best practice towards ensuring that we deploy environmentally- friendly processes and procedures wherever possible.”
Adding more Al Katheeri said that Abu Dhabi International Airport is committed to exploring and integrating energy efficient solutions to its operations and projects. As part of their green initiatives, they are ensuring they deliver an iconic gateway to the capital not only with its world-class services and facilities, but also in its sustainable design and operations. He said, “We are also eager to support initiatives that would promote further green practices.”
