San Bernardino International Airport recently said that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Abu Dhabi Airports creating a link between Al Bateen Executive Airport and San Bernardino International Airport in San Bernardino, California, USA.
The MOU was signed during Abu Dhabi Air Expo 2018 by Acting Chief Executive Officer of Abu Dhabi Aiports, Abdul Majeed Al Khoori and Michael Burrows, Executive Director of San Bernardino International Airport Authority. This contract will enable both sides for continuous cooperation and by adopting best practices they will be able to operate and develop a safe, secure, environmentally compatible and efficient air transport system.
Executive Director of SBIAA, Michael Burrows said, “It is an exciting partnership that we have finalized today, and we are eager to start the collaboration with Abu Dhabi Airports and exchange experiences and lessons learned during our journeys towards delivering efficient, viable and high quality airports in our respective regions.”
Acting Chief Executive Officer of Abu Dhabi Airports, Abdul Majeed Al Khoori said, “We are delighted to have signed this MOU today with such pioneering industry peer. Abu Dhabi Airports and San Bernardino International Airport Authority both recognize the opportunities this agreement will offer our airports in terms of sustainable and economic development, and solutions to manage challenges arising from growth in demand.”
Al Bateen Executive Airport being located at the heart of Abu Dhabi city began it commercial services from back in 2008 and become the only exclusive business aviation airport in the Middle East and North Africa. Airport has a stand capacity for up to 90 private jets. According to the record traffic figures in 2017 recently announced by airport, it handled 12,000 traffic movements within its aerodrome and FBO.
